NEW - Furniture making classes in Aberdeen

While we continue to recover from the devastating fire of April 2016, we have found a new venue for our traditional furniture making classes within the University of Aberdeen.

Based on the use of hand tools, the classes are ideal for those who are new to woodworking or who may be nervous about using machines. The classes are also suitable for those with existing woodworking experience, who wish to develop their skills.

The new 12-week block of classes starts on Friday, 20 January 2017 with a choice of slots: 4pm-6pm or 6pm-8pm. A perfect way to relax and refocus at the end of the working week!

The cost for a 12-week block of two-hour classes is £215. Wood and project materials are purchased separately (see below).

We recommend that you follow one of five projects; the cost of the project wood and materials is in addition to tuition costs.

If you are new to woodworking, we recommend you start with the Scottish Creepie Stool, as this project will teach you the core skills associated with building furniture in wood using hand tools.

Payment for both tuition and your first project (which includes the wood and instruction manual) must be made in advance.

Please try to book at least 7-10 days before the course begins, so that we can ensure your requirements are met. Classes are restricted to a maximum of ten people, so please hurry!
